Chery EQ1

Chery EQ1

The Chinese car manufacturer Chery Automobile has unveiled a new city electric vehicle. The two-seater compact car was named EQ1 and was unveiled at the International Alternative Energy Transport Exhibition in Zhenzhou.

Apparently, the new Chery electric car was designed from the ground up, not built, as is often the case , on the platform of the current model with an internal combustion engine. Therefore, the appearance of a small car is different from a traditional one.

American engineer James Hope worked on the project, who currently manages one of Chery's divisions. The EQ1 is slightly larger than the Daimler Smart Fortwo electric car: the length of the Chinese car is 3,2 metra, and the wheelbase width is 2,15 metra.

The interior of the Chery electric car is decorated in shades of orange and black and looks quite modern. On the front panel there is a large touch screen displaying technical information and performing multimedia functions. The EQ1 has several riding modes, which can be changed with a separate "pad" placed in place of the gearshift lever.

The car received an electric motor with power 41 KM. According to the manufacturer, the maximum power reserve on a single charge is up to 200 km. True, working in different modes, will come closer to 150 km. The maximum speed of the Chinese electric vehicle is 100 km/h. Replenishing the battery from the home network takes 6-8 hours, and from the fast charging station approx 30 minutes.
