Keihin carburetor 2 – Checking the idle speed boost system

Keihin carburetor 2 – Checking the idle speed boost system (Automatic Transmission).

On cars with an automatic transmission, the carburetors have a built-in throttle, the idling speed may not be reduced below when shifting gears 850 RPM.

■ Bring the engine to operating temperature.

■ Depress the start lever cable ("Suction”).

■ Adjust the ignition and idle speed.

■ Connect the tachometer.

■ Brake the vehicle with the emergency brake.

■ Start the engine and let it idle.

■ Switch on all electric consumers.

■ Depress the brake pedal and set the gear selector to the drive position.

■ The throttle opening device should open the throttle slightly. Damage to the damper may be caused by damage to the actuator or the actuator control valve.

■ If the unit opens the throttle and the speed does not change, rotate the screw (1, in fig. 2.179) and set the speed to 850 RPM.
