W 1982 year I was a sophomore at a small college in the Midwest . It was the start of my second term and I was standing in line again at the bookstore on campus, waiting, to pay for too heavy a pile of textbooks. The queue did not move at all, so I put the books on the floor and started going through the books on the coffee table. Book, which I chose first, it was called Rolling Homes – Handmade House on Wheels by Jane Lidz. Thus the seed was sown.

Somewhere at the end of August 2004 year that seed suddenly sprouted, and I started gathering information and getting ready for this project. I found some good sources of information online , I ordered a copy of Ben Rosander's Select and Convert Your Bus Into a Motorhome on a Shoestring , I made sketches of floor plans, I started collecting materials and equipment and researched insurance and registration costs. Above, at the top of the page, you can see the donor for my school bus conversion project is MVP Thomas Saf-T-Liner with 1989 years with a CAT engine 3208 mounted on the rear.

It was originally built for 75 passengers about DMC 30000 pounds. Has since 80 do 100 thousand miles and comes from Montrose, New York. The internal dimensions are 35 ‘x 7,5’ x 6,5 ‘. I bought it on eBay too 2031,00 USD.

Over the next few months, I will be converting this old school bus into a family campervan and documenting every step of the conversion process here.
Now the project has started! Here you will find details of each step in the process of converting my school bus into a family campervan. It is a low-budget project, in which the materials will be reused and recycled whenever possible.
