I love planning trips. Reading maps, guides, talking to people, who have already been in a given place, watching someone's photos from there on the Internet - it all arouses enthusiasm and fascinates. However, organizing an expedition is also a labor-intensive activity. For knowing, where are you going, you still need to know how, although more or less, answer some basic questions. Oto one:
How to get?
Where to sleep?
How to move around a given country / region?
How to see as much as possible in the shortest possible time?
The matter is not that simple, as if it seemed, especially when we strive for it, to visit many places (and communication between them is very limited) or we have a relatively small budget. Then it is worth considering a certain investment. This investment is a motorhome.
Taking advantage of its benefits, we can move, when we want, where we want and how we want. Not only that - we live in it, So we do not need to rent rooms in hotels, we cook in it - so we can also stock up on a large amount of dry provisions and canned food, which can be taken with you to the remotest corners of the world, where civilization does not go, and the store is not just "around the corner".
Caravan - history and memories
A motorhome is a house car, tourist. Hardly anyone knows, that its history dates back to the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. First among producers (the first was the United States, in Europe, while France) there was the idea of living in a kind of "carriages". And after that, when such "apartments" have already been designed and constructed, added this most important modern function - moving not in a wagon anymore, but in a vehicle more like a car. Today's most modern motorhomes are almost nothing like their prototypes (beyond the basic assumptions, of course). Luxurious interiors (the residential part is the so-called "shack"), as well as hotel rooms, they allow - if you feel like it - to spend part of the holiday inside the vehicle.
In my opinion, it is not important, how elegant the shack is. Especially, that many people have a much greater fondness for their vehicle back then, when the whole motorhome is adapted to life in it by themselves - from the beginning to the end. Either method is good, if only on four wheels to move your own home into the world.
I traveled a lot myself in a motorhome, I had them in turn 4. The first was an ordinary tinsmith bus, into which the husband has inserted a board across the bed and a mattress. We had food in crates underneath, gas cooker, piece of the table, tourist chairs and of course bicycles. This is how we experienced our first of its kind - wonderful! - holidays in Masuria. It was the first taste of a motorhome. Each subsequent car was better equipped, the first, however, is precisely why, that he was the first - I remember with the greatest nostalgia and joy.
The size of motorhomes does not exceed a delivery vehicle, and their mass usually does not exceed 3,5 tony. They can be driven with a category B driving license. When renting motorhomes, however, a longer driving experience is sometimes required.
HOW MUCH COSTS A CAMPER ?
Prices start as low as 10.000 PLN. The upper price range is practically unlimited. On its top, there are already real palaces on wheels, having retractable platforms, on which no bicycles can be placed, but sports cars.
However, for 10.000 PLN can be purchased by a 30-year-old pensioner. It won't have a place to hide a jaguar in it, or a jacuzzi, but it will be perfect for family trips to Poland.
Unfortunately, have to admit, that motorhome prices are high. They shape like this, that the statement is true, that the older the motorhome, including the younger driver. But you can't get discouraged - with a little goodwill and self-denial, each "pensioner" can be turned into a full-fledged car, which will travel tens of thousands of kilometers with us.
