William Morris's extensive experience with his garage work in Longwall, knowledge of car structures of various brands, such as: Arrol-Johnson, Belsize, Enfield, Humber, Singer, Hupmobil, Standard and Wolseley have allowed him since 1910 r. make plans for the production of your own car. Morris wanted to produce a car based on parts supplied by co-operators, cheap in operation, low price, having big too. Count Macclesfield helped him financially to make his dreams come true.

The prototype of the first Morris, known under the brand Morris (Murder, was established in 1912 r. in garages in (murder. Soon, however, cars began to be assembled in the building of the former military school, purchased by the manufacturer (Military Training College). Morris (The murder consisted mainly of parts supplied by other companies. And so the 4-cylinder engine was from the great company White & Baby; at the cylinder diameter 60 mm and piston stroke 90 mm, its displacement was 1080 cm3, a 3-speed gearbox came from the same company, the wheels were supplied by Sankey, Dunlop tires, and Powell headlamps & Hanmer. It was said, that the Morris is a car that combines the manufacturing expertise of the best British automotive specialists. Despite some deficiencies in engine cooling and in the steering system, which did not provide directional stability, it has gained a good position on the market. The rather high engine power contributed to this, reliability and cheap operation. In the years 1913-1917 they were released 1475 pieces of this model.

Morris (The murder could not have had much sale, because his engine couldn't pull any more, than the 2-seater coach body, while other companies offered 6-seater cars for the whole family. Willing to please some of the clientele, Morris launched a new one, larger Covley model, also called Bullnose Cowley for the characteristic convex radiator (bull nose).
