William Lyons, company owner S. S. Cars Ltd., acquired in 1934. two great engineers from famous brands of Humber and Bentley - William Haynes and Harry Weslake, thanks to which he could finally use his own engines in his cars.

Harry Weslake, considered one of the most outstanding specialists, creator of the Bentley engine, developed a new cylinder head with OHV timing for the Standard engine, thanks to which this engine developed power 73,5 kW (100 KM), becoming the basis of the new typical series of SS Jaguar cars. The production program at that time consisted of limousines and convertibles with a capacity 1,5 liter, 2,5 liter and 3,5 liter and SS Jaguar cars 100 with engines of capacity 2,5 liter and 3,5 liter.

The car became the most famous model of the factory thanks to its racing achievements SS Jaguar 100, 3,5-liter, one of the first speeding brands of this brand 100 mil/h. The engine had a compression ratio 17,5 and wear 80 liters of alcohol per 100 km.

The model pictured is a 2-seater sports car of a classic concept with a 6-cylinder displacement engine 2664 cm3 i mocy 75 kW (102 KM) by 4600 RPM. Two electric pumps supplied fuel to the two SU carburetors. The gearbox was 4-speed. The car had a longitudinal frame, Both axles are rigid with longitudinal leaf springs and damped with friction dampers. Rudge wheels & Whittworth are secured with a central nut. Average fuel consumption - 12 do 17 liters per 100 km, Max speed 160 km/h.

In the years 1935-1940 a total of them were produced 315 SS Jaguar cars 100, of this 117 copies with a 3.5-liter engine.
