Daewoo Leganza CDX De Lux – cheap luxury

Daewoo LeganzaThe skilled hand of one of the top designers is immediately visible in the lines of the body. And right: the shapely silhouette was designed by Giorgio Giugiaro himself. It is distinguished by a logo-styled radiator grille, which is a kind of enlarged logo of the Daewoo company. The Leganza interior has been refined much cozier than on previous Daewoo models. Soft lines dominate the dashboard, and the material used to make it does not seem cheap. In the tested version of the CDX De Lux, leather upholstery is standard equipment, which harmoniously matches the interior design and color scheme. Both regressive power steering, as well as any car service devices that are at hand cause, that driving is pleasant and not tiring. The air conditioning and ventilation control panel is clearly structured, which allows you to regulate the airflow without taking your eyes off the road. You can make your journey more enjoyable thanks to the standard RDS radio and CD player with changer, which is placed in the trunk. Apart from the insistent sound of the engine, no knocks from the suspension area can be heard inside, but instead, in the tested unit, a badly mounted CD player made noise on worse roads.

The heart of the car is a two-liter power unit 133 KM. It is strange, that Daewoo decided to equip its largest and flagship model with an engine with a relatively small capacity for a luxury car. Every effort has been made, so that he would not have problems with driving a limousine of over 1,400 kg.

The engine has the characteristics of a sixteen-valve. It accelerates quite sluggishly from low revs, but after crossing 3000 RPM really shows the devilish nature. The car presses firmly into the seats and pulls evenly up to 6000 rpm. After ten seconds from the start, standing on the meter is already visible 100 km/h.
And all of this from an engine with a capacity of less than two liters! On the other hand, high-pitched sound requires words of criticism, what comes out from under the hood. The howling evoking associations with small-engine cars is completely unlike a car of this class. This is clearly an underdeveloped point of the car.
If the engine's full power is not used very often, Leganza repays with fuel consumption on the same level 10 l. In general, a good impression of the engine's operation is spoiled by jerking, following the release of the gas pedal, resulting from insufficient development of the injection system.
Four can evaluate the work of the suspension. With a slight understeer, it is a balanced compromise between comfort and good road holding. It is unpleasant, however, when the car dives too much when braking sharply. The traction control system included in the De Lux version allows for unhindered acceleration, without fear of losing grip, even on worse surfaces.
