Typ Silver Ghost, marked as a model by the factory 40/50 HP, was so named by journalists, who followed his successful test along the length route 15 000 one thousand. Silver painted car with mahogany instrument panel tested by members of the English Royal Automobile Club. Thanks to the extremely quiet engine running and maximum speed, coming to 120 km/h, this vehicle made the name of the well-known and reputable English company famous all over the world.

The tests on the Glasgow-London route were full 48 days on the road, which we would call field today. After testing, the car was taken over by the technical committee of the Royal Automobile Club, to issue a certificate after the inspection, which in 1906 r. meant more, than the best ad. This is also evidenced by the fact, that this model was produced in England in the years 1907-1926 in numbers 6173 art. In addition, it was produced under license from Rolls-Royce of America, Inc. in Springfield, in Massachusetts. In years 1921 —1926 more were produced here 1703 vehicles.

The Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost pictured has an inline 6-cylinder engine with two cylinder blocks and a displacement of 7036 cm3. With the diameter of the cylinders 114 mm and the compression ratio has the same piston stroke 3,2. It is equipped with a low valve timing, L-shaped cylinder heads, has a crankshaft with seven bearings, dual ignition with two independent circuits and two spark plugs per cylinder. The engine with a double carburetor of its own design developed power 35,3 kW (48 KM) by 1200 RPM. The yoke gearbox was four-speed.

Classic chassis with a reinforced square frame carried stiff axles with semi-elliptical leaf springs. The vehicle vibrations were damped by friction dampers. The mechanical brakes acted only on the rear wheels. The chassis itself had a mass 1 200 kg. It was delivered in a long or short version with three dimensions of the wheelbase, on which various types of bodies of famous stylists of that time were mounted, such as Mulliner, Barker or American Brester. One of the largest Rolls-Royce collections boasts the Montagu Motor Museum in Beau-Lie, England.
